We all feel for a moment to open the door of a classroom.
We are now meeting boys and girls, eager for knowledge, eager to return their experience, wealth and hardship. They bring with them a complex, sometimes difficult to interpret, have an enormous need to enter into dialogue among peers and with adults able to have time to listen to them, competent adults in their ongoing mediation efforts, able to help you sort your experiences . The school everyday is a continuous learning laboratory for established and new languages.
Let us look more in boys and girls of any class. There appear to be very different from the crowd that imagines the silent Gelmini: we see immediately that someone is learning fast, intuitive, who needs to try and try to smooth transition, observing other learners, learners in the group, who alone, who needs to be constantly reassured. For all that it takes time .
