Epidemic in Cuba: a crap reserved for Italians. Astounding
I worry about Cuba, newspapers and TV persistently reported an outbreak of dengue that would be wiped out the poor islanders.
So I decide to investigate, with Google News and try to get an overview of the situation. Google News Italy does not disappoint: in spite of the strike by journalists, keys "dengue" and "Cuba" shows thirty articles on the subject. Who wallows more is obviously the journalist, who happily describes "heaps of dead," but other sources report the same news.
I want to know more, and so I go on Google News U.S. to get many more details. Who knows the hundreds of articoloni, perhaps even as we wallow in them, I think.
Instead, nothing.
Not even an article on CNN, Fox, Time, Newsweek, and the thousands of American newspapers. Indeed, only one short article, obviously the Miami Herald, but said only one spray against mosquitoes that would be taking place, as every year on the island of Cuba
It seems incredible. So, I try to Google News Spain, knowing that the English newspapers are always looking to Latin America. Nothing at all. Not a word. Among the hundreds of newspapers, not even a mention of the "news." Google News France
dutifully reported news of dengue epidemic is happening in India, and reports cases of the disease in the West Indies in Guyana, even in Tahiti. But in Cuba, not even the shadow.
So for me the case is closed. It remains to be seen whether this is bad information, the Italian journalist who invent the news based on a bit 'of insecticide, or deceitful action to hit the Italian tourism to the Isla Bonita. Of course, a denial would be nice ... or, since the strike, we could take advantage to become passionate readers of the Pais of Figaro or even Newsweek. Certainly not tell lies.
